I posted up this page that Tera didn't appear to have the NP231J version of the 2lo kit any longer. I emailed them and just got this link back. They confirmed too that it does indeed disconnect the front and read when in neutral.

Yep, it has the dip where neutral has. Too bad they don't make it any more....
EDIT: They DO make it.



Picture from the kit..... It has the dip, but it also has an extra tooth and the side of it is different.
The shift fork looks the same. May not be tho'.

Question was raised earlier but I did not see an answer. Summit says "Fits New Process 231 transfer cases built between 1997 and 1999". What about np231 1988 or NP231J 1989?
