Current one is style on the right out of the switches. And yea too short and not the right size

Jeeps unlimited(jeeps junkyard) told me its the t5 tranny. Went to crown and they said that's not it. I ended up going a parts place in canton ma called total parts or something. He thinks he found the switch but he called me this morning and after that call it doesn't seem like he found it.

Google AMC T4 T5 trans. It was used I the CJ in early-mid 80s

Don't believe that's it. I even asked the guy at crown and he took out all reverse switches he had for the transmissions. Including t4 or t5

Mine has less threads than that one and more of a longer shaft

Maybe call them tomorrow and see if they can run and check?

EDIT: Does your transmission have a tag on it that has the model information? Usually a metal tag on the body of the transmission itself?

No tags at all. And what could they run? It goes to a 231 transfer case. And a 2.5l engine. And maybe the pics distorted but the guy at crown said it deff wasn't a t4 or t5

Based upon it being a Jeep with that style switch, If it's a 5-speed manual than I believe it's a T5. or if its a Four-speed- T4.

Call Quad and plead with them to do some legwork for you. You may be able to send them that image of your part next to the ruler. After that, I'm at a loss. PM Que here maybe he has one lying around..

I have both switches installed on my '90/'93 2.5L AX5

I swapped my '90 drive train and wiring over to a '93. The tranny in the '90 had the 2-stud style switch that you have, the '93 tranny had the 2-wire switch. I really don't remember why but I ended up putting the 2-stud into the same hole you show the 2-wire mounted in your 1st set of pics. I figured out that my (new) '93 wiring was set up for the 2-wire switch and I installed it in the next hole forward (at the same level) of where you have yours mounted. Works like a champ.
