transmission ID

hey Everyone, I have an oppurtunity to get a replacement for my peugeot tranny.It's out of the vehicle and my question is this.Is there any way to identify the difference between an ax-15 and an ax-5 externally? thanks for your help

If it came out of a I-6, it's the AX 15. If it came out of a 4, it's the AX 5.hth

It was previously removed so I don't know which engine it was matched with.Are the differencesa only internal?
