transfer case swap

Can a transfer case Input Gear (21 spline) from a 2.5l 94 yj (sure its an ax5) be swapped with the Input Gear (23 spline) from a 91 4.0l 91 yj (sure its an ax15).

I just want to swap transfer cases between the two jeeps. I want to move my 94 suspension from the 94 to the 91 so i get a less beat up jeep and a 4l.

but still have the 94 functional with the 91 suspension.

Should be OK

and while you're at it, swap your axles too (unless you've already regeared your 91) to get the 4.10s... edit - nevermind... read your sig AFTER I posted

You should however be able to swap the front half of the case's. This would give you the 23 spline input you need and the same rear you currently have. Lot's of people do that with a chevy 4.3" swap to get the 6 planetary gear upgrade.
