transfer case oil change oh noooo

had a bad seal so I thought I would chang it and the oil now I think Ineed to rebuild this is what I found when i pulled the rear housing. It was broke ther was no oil in the transfer case just some oily sluge I will post a pic. as soon as I figure out how. new to all of this so be nice

This is a perfect example why everyone needs to CHANGE ALL FLUIDS (engine oil, coolant, axle, trans, t/c and check brake and power steering) whenever they buy a used vehicle REGARDLESS of what the PO told them.

Anyway, this is a great time to get a SYE. That will replace that pitted shaft and bearing in the broken tail housing. How do the gears look?

I havent pulled it out yet but from what I can see of them they look okI dont know when I will be able to fix it not much work need that good old green stuf

Ummm... Did the PO take a dump in your TC? That's pretty much the grossest TC I've seen in the last couple of weeks.

I picked this old jeep up cheep knew it would need a lot of work but some day I hope to have it back to better than new

It has to do with how big you take your pictures because you are uploading directly. Most people use a place like photobucket and they auto resize your pics for you.

I just resized yours for you.
