Trans and t-case vs cummins 4BT

What manual transmission and transfer case will handle a Cummins 4BT with DANA 60's?

You will be looking for trannies that came in one ton trucks, which will make it interesting as far as length and fitting it in a yj. 4bt's don't make much hp but the torque is what you need the big tranny for. Most of them came mated to chevy trannies in the bread trucks. So manuals would be sm465 mated to np205, or Newer nv4500 or similar. Autos would be turbo 400 with a NP 261 I think. I have a 3/4 ton chevy with a 4L80E and a 261hd t-case. I hope this points you in the right direction. Google it. I know 4bt's have a few dedicated sites.

x2 I have had my eye on a bread truck down the road from me for 1,900 bucks with the 4bt and auto. You can't even buy just the combo on ebay for that price much less the whole truck and then theres shipping. Please start it soon, we need a 4bt YJ build like yesterday!!!

you can find a frito lays box truck wotha 4bt pull urself for cheap and then mate it with the th400 but a 4wd version. and i would suggest a 203/205 dual case. that was how i was planning my 4bt swap. i would put a d80 with rockwell outers (rear steer)(if your going to have a diesel in a jeep then it should be a diesel jeep)in the rear and d60 up front. or you could just put in rockwells altogether

wow great plan. If you are wating to stick to a manual I woudl say the NV4500?n But your gonna need to strectch a little probably as that engine/tranny/whatever t-case combo will be long. Unless you get an atlas or something Then you must start a build thread. Cool idea. One day a jeep I own will have a 4BT in it.
