tranny question???

this is my first post here!! and im a newbie jeep wrangler yj sahara owner!!! and i took the transmission out to put a new transmission in, that also came with the jeep!!! everything went perfect and easy!! but i didnt notice till after i installed the new trans!!! that the shifters!! are different (old trans) had a retaing clip holding shifter in with a breather tube by the shifetr!!! new trans had 4 bolts to remove shifter!!! and and no breather tube!! also (old trans) has 2 prongs coming out of the trans mission on the drivers side and new one does not?? can anyone on here tell me what i have done lol?? do i have to rip the whole thing apart again?? all i want to know is what the 2 prongs are for?? and will it matter that the new trans doesnt have the breater tube by shifter like the old one??? please i need help thx :P

thats the prob i dont know im new to jeeps all i know is old trans the shifter was held in with a metal ring to pull shifter out and new trans is 4 bolts to remove shifter assembly!!! and old trans had a breather tube up buy the shifter and new trans does not have that!!! the old trans was origional trans that came in the 87 with the 4.2 straight 6 im assuming and the new trans he gave me is from a 88 that had a 4.0l fuel injected motor in it thats best i can tell ya with out going out tommorow and seraching for numbers for ya its the 2 prongs that we on the old trans on drivers side of tranny that im more worried abought as new trany doesnt have that to plug the wires into it!!! thx

i think the old trany is a ba-10/5 that has the two prongs sticking out on the drivers side?? and the new trany he gave me to go in is a ax15 ???

my basic question is what are the two prongs for?? on the ba10/5?? trans oil presure gauge sensor?? as the new ax15 dosent have them two prongs

Should be the reverse or backup lights. Only thing coming out of a standard trans.

Every time I see a thread titled tranny issue's I am always a little scared to click on it.

Oh and can you post pics of said prongs.

I will keep my next innapropriate comment to myself about the prongs.

thx joker and Lol siva i called today to dodge when i was at work they said it was what joker said ,,reverse light switch thx guys for the help :P
