tranny parts

will this fix my problem with my tranny? Jeep Parts 4762679 18888.15 PEUGEOT BA 10/5 5 SPEED 1987-89 WRANGLER & CHEROKEE REVERSE GEA

obviously i have the ba10/5, well everytime i put it in reverse it pops out. so now i cant even back up on flat ground without using 4 low, and it still pops out with me forcing it in. i know it will eventually happen again, and that the tranny isn't really worth fixing, but im 19, broke, and it's my daily driver. so can someone give me some advice please?

i think its your sychro not the gear. i could be wrong have been before but if it where the gear it wouldn't roll right and it would make a grinding noise no?

im not sure but i dont think the ax4 will work on the 258 6 cyl, im looking for an ax15 atm. sorry i cant be much help but i hear the pos tranny is a pos just to work on. i know its easy to take out( had to do it 5 times in 3 weeks last year)but the friend who rebuilt it told me it was different than the ones he usually done. Its lasted me but its only been a year and im having problems with it again, its really not worth fixing.

And if it is the synchros be carefull my friend (who rebuilds trannys for a living) put the synchros in the way he was instructed to by the manual but they ended up being wrong, we had to take it to a profesional shop where they said that there is a special way to put them in.

I'm trying to understand why someone would bother rebuilding a ba 10/5

There aren't any synchros on the reverse gear.
I seem to recall the "popping out of reverse" problem was caused by a worn reverse gear idler shaft.

ok i kinda forgot about this, no way would the ax5 work plus im in ga. there is no syncro for reverse. it does grind, and it doesnt roll right. the reason im wanting to fix it is because im broke and cant afford a swap right now. thank you kloppk ill look into the idler shaft as well.
