I dont have a tach to put on..I tried the multi meter.

I need to try again..I need to set the rpms at 3500..

I did adjust screw half way out to start..

It did what instructions said.i left it there and took test drive..

It goes great in 1.2 and 3rd still dies out in 4th and 5th.

Idle was 750 ..it did help some..I put muffler back on.i am going to open exhaust again to test drive.

I checked exhaust temp when hot..

400 at manifold..300 at front of muffler 200 at rear of muffler.

Update..

Jeep is close..I had adjusted throttle cable to get tps volts up.when I set it it was on valve cover..

Im at .85 volts closed throttle..4.80 wot.4.85 volts is volts to tps.

We had gotten a timing light..

At idle 10deg before tdc..steady mark..

Give a little gas timing goes past numbers and jumps around

Mark comes and goes.

Is this a common wear item even with self adjuster..

Is it worth the 60 bucks to replace?

It will hold 4th at 65 if you bring 3rd to red line before shift

Idle steady at 750..

Cold start no gas..it goes just above 1000 for secs. Than sits at 750..

Speedometer is off..has 31s on 10.5 rims

Whats your thought on timing chain or weak adjuster..

The dizzy was to much to just try..gear isnt worn to eye.but not sure side by side.i held rotor tight and tried to turn with gear.it make a jump feel.

Question.dizzy from 92 with wire will that work on this.junk yard had that

update..to save time. im taking jeep on a 1300 mile drive..
29palms California to san antiono texas..

didnt change timing chain....

just went for it

filled up.seen I got 11 mpg while beating it testing..

jeep was hard to keep steady speed..mostly in 4th.5 top speed down hill maybe 70 mph

after..get to interstate10''

1hr later I find I can hit 5th..I found drafting tractors helps major on these square noses..

I stopped every 100 miles for fuel..

when I go to get off 3 fuell up..bang..slave cylinder inside trans blows..

so I had to use starter to start in gear.no big deal..

next stop.bang starter doesnt turn over..I had 1 with me and tools.no start..

get pushed..

next stop its late..fuel station is like empty.

I try jumping starter..that works..start jeep.

push and jump in..grabbed 1st.

I make to elpaso..I see 2 jeep wrangers broken down on side of road..lol

I get to fuel station and thanked God..I was planning on stopping to visit best friend.

tthey came and towed me ..to many red lights..

crazy during 4th gear only..I hit speeds up to 80mph..was able to hold 75-

but first incline.who knew how low it go..

fuel mileage wasnt that bad in just 4th.3000 rpms it held..3200 every other good run

Lol ok. I am familiar with 29 palms from my military days. They kept some of our"ordnance" there. You are right there to see the hammer! Did you get the rig back together or its it put on hold?

made it to san antiono,,jeep is hurting..blew front crank seal..

starter issue was ign switch..or dirty connection at switch.

got around 12mpg..with foot on floor.

something say timing chain is shot..or engine is..but it ran like a champ other than issues I did have

Update..

Jeep went 70 no problem today than boom..lol

I will know more tommorrow in daylight..

It was dark and on side of hwy in rain no top..found no spark

Took out distributor. .gear was cooked.cam gear is cooked.

Looks like oil pump shaft broke.in dark I only seen 1 side when lining up ..

Rebuilt dissy is bad threads for cap are stripped .1 had enough to catch.used vise grips on other side to hold..was able to limp 30 miles home..

Kinda glad it happened here...suxs I just got all the oil leaks to stop and now have to tear it down.
