Tops?

Finally got a new to me yj. I got it with only a bikini top. I've searched my area for a hard top with not much luck. I'm going to pick up a soft top but I'm not sure what's good and what to stay away from. What's everyone's thoughts on a good quality soft top. I also need all hardware and frame.

Funny thing about living in the rust belt, the jeeps rust out from under their hard tops. They're almost free around here, but too bulky to transport.

I'd leaf through the quadratec catalog for ideas. I've got an old Besttop on mine, about 6 years old, and the fabric now needs replacing. I think I'll get another one.

Nice jeep! I like my best top replacement top. I think when I replace mine I will look at getting a best top super top.

You could check out Softtopper. They're frameless I believe and are quieter.

just checked out the soft topper website. Every picture has full doors. I have half doors with soft uppers. It says it works with "most" uppers but I am guessing it only works with the rounded corners not the square ones that I have.

You are correct. You need the rounded corners. This will be my next top. Tired of the "Made in China" stuff coming from the best top company. I've had 3 different tops from them and the quality keeps going down.

Get some TJ soft uppers. Easy to modify to fit the YJ.

If I have to buy TJ uppers I just as well buy a bestop. I would be into it for about the same amount of money.

Understandable. I would go with a replace a top before I would ever buy a super top again. The OEM system is much better in my opinion.

I'm just ready to get rid of my fame system all together. It just gets in the way during the summer.

Any experience with the super top nx? It comes with a factory frame and hardware. That way I could still use my upper sliders!

I have had good luck with bestop. My first top I bought was from pavement ends and a zipper broke when I put it on for the first time. I sent it back to Qtech with out any problems and purchased a bestop. That top lasted me almost 6 years. I went and bought another one. This time with tinted windows. I have half doors aswell. Qtech had the top for less than 4wheel drive, but 4WD offered free shipping. I called Qtech and they matched the free shipping of 4WD. You just have to price shop and talk to the sales rep. I saved $30.

The super top comes with everything to include the soft uppers. They have rounded corners.

I have the uppers that have the sliders not the zippers with square corners. Well I ordered the supertop nx. Morris 4x4 has free shipping and a price of 659.99 with 100 mail in rebate. Ill review it once I get it installed
