Tom's Big Red Boat(Build)
Well after a while of surfing the forums and getting some valuable knowledge about jeeps, I have decide to make a build thread.
I got my 1987 Jeep Yj for my 15th birthday in March 2007 and I have been working on it ever since.
The PO rebuilt the frame, he made it stronger and got rid of all the rust.
He also put a newer engine in it, 2.5" Skyjacker Lift, 2" Shackles, and some A/T 31s on.
This is some photos from the first week I got the heep.
More to come.

The First thing I did, was change the crappy drivers seat(broke, leaned toward the center console) for a Bestop seat(only had enough money for one seat) and also bought a bestop Bikini top.
Next I bought the matching passenger's seat..
I then decided to take apart the dash for God knows why, and then found out that the whole dash was dry-rotted and cracked.. for the next month or so I drove the jeep around like this..
Within about 2 months I bought newer dash parts off of ebay.. I didn't like the old tan color of the dash and I decided to paint the dash parts and the door panels with some black krylon fusion.
During..
After..
More to come.

Well as of today...
I did the Chevy Blower upgrade about 2 months ago and took the trackbars off. Put in New Master Cylinder/Brake Booster.
I kicked a soccer ball into the windshield, so now I'm getting new glass soon. The story behind the kick. I was behind the jeep and I tried to kick the ball over the jeep.. kicked it.. flew into the jeep with the soft top on.. fit perfectly between the very close front seats... hit the mirror which cracked the windshield.
The jeep is in the shop now. Getting Timing Set, Brakes fixed, some other stuff.
I can't wait till I get it back. Santa's little brown elves delivered this to my door...
and I bought some BrandonYj 3/4" Booms.

Looks great.
But what about the interior with so many different colors? You should have waited on the seats and got black also. My opinion would be to get the interior to ONE matching color. I wouldn't be so bad if the exterior was black.
my $0.02

Looks good Tom. Those are expensive lights, so watch out for low branches.
Make sure to take pics of the lift install.

Expensive they may be, but I feel like the light bar and lights are a little much as well. They are too high above the Jeep's windshield frame, any kind of enclosed trails and they are will be toast. Have you though about relocating some to the bumper and windshield hinges? I think they would look far superior there, and be alot more functional. Just my $0.02 though.

There's enough light power up there to flag down a UFO.
Those are some big lights, watch for low branches, etc. the jeep is looking good though!
