Tomb Raider: Reloaded
Well,
I debated on whether to start this post, or just do it and post after. But, that's just not me. I like to post things that others can learn from.....my mistakes, or lack there of, depending on the day. As much as I am on the internet...most of what I have learned regard's to the jeep life has been from other jeeper's who have posted their problems, solutions and projects for others such as myself to learn from. With that introduction......let's begin. None of what I will do or post will be "new material" in the jeep world...but rather MY material on the subject. Just another one of the many that progress from stocker to...well...not so stocker. First, lets take a look back. Where it stood when I bought it in October, 2005. 4" procomp lift, 31's. ![]() Then, I got ambitious. 4" procomp lift, 2" body lift, 35's Then came the first official "teardown." The result was SOA on 2" lift springs, 2" body lift and 37's. ![]() Shortly thereafter.....I decided to stretch it. 2" springs in front, XJ springs in the rear, NO body lift.....still on 37's. Here is how it stands now. ![]()

So as it stands now, I'm on the stock front axle....yes a stock dana 30 with 37's. The rear axle is a ford 8.8. I've been very happy with both axles, as I have only had one ujoint in the front go, and no issues at all with the rear. They've held up well. HOWEVER.....
I've been very easy on my rig. I drive it to/from work every day. When I wheel, I wheel smart. I'm light on the gas, and don't force it more than I should. And pretty much, I'm tired of doing that. Yes, you say...."I wheel the piss outta mine on stock axles with no problems....." I would agree that some can. But every persons idea of "hard wheelin'" is different. Needless to say, it's time to step up. Here are my plans for the reload: Dana 60 front axle with ARB. Dana 60 rear axle with ARB. 4link front/rear with coilovers. 41 IROK's Full cage Sliders Body tube work Paint job Herculined ALL of this will be done by me. And all of it will be posted as it goes in the rig. When it's done.....it will be a little something like this: ![]() With a little of this thrown in....... ![]() ![]() The 60's will be here around the 15th. Let's reload.

have you bought a new daily driver yet or are you going to continue to drive it to/from work? also, what 41's are you thinking about? that's not a very common size in any of the tires i see on a regular basis around my area....

me an scott have been talking for @5-6 months about benders, and i finally bit the bullet today and ordered one, the model 105 with all the goodies and the computer software.... i already have a good notcher, grinder, chop saw, welder, etc etc. so it made sence.... that and stacy said for me to just get it so i can just make stuff myself instead of relying on others...
