TJ soft top
buddy sold his tj then found his soft top in his garage, wants to know if i wanna buy it... so i ask you... can i use a TJ soft top and hardware on my YJ? if not then can i mod. the hardware to fit, i am a wleder so thats no porblem. thanks

i dont think so..im pretty sure it wont work i think the fabric on the tj is smaller in area..so if thats the case i dont think so with factory hardware..im thinking if u weld something up it will work

i belive the tj windsheild has more slope to it than the yj does and therefor makes the fabric above the front seats smaller. other than that i wouldn't really see why not. maybe you could put a tj windsheild on your yj tub and then you wouldn't have to worry about how the top fastens on. not sure................ i guess if you switch out the windsheild you would also need new doors too so it may not be worth it.

I'm pretty sure the answer to your question is no, because the TJ uses a different mechanism to attach the top to the windshield. I think the TJs have a clasping mechanism where as I know the YJs have a windshield bar that the top slides into. You might want to ask the TJ forum.

ask him if you can try it out first b4 you buy it. if it looks like you can fab it up to make it work then buy it if not then dont buy it. if hes a buddy im sure he will not mind you test fitting it

my mom is a upholster as well so we might be able to make something work, but i am gonna try it out to see if the basics are there and if not maybe start from scratch....... thanks for the tips!

I think I would just sweet talk mom with a good christmas gift and get a custom .
