I found this in the TJ section. The one on the right is from auto zone like I have. I will not activate the light.

What did you use to finally seat the seals properly?

Just curious as to why do the switch at all? I did a TJ shaft (with full circle clips) about a month ago and no problems with my 4X4 light on the dash just using the old Vacuum housing - I suppose if the vacuum motor ever fails I will look into doing this upgrade...

And I managed to not kill my Napa seal on the first try, only because I bought two. :-)

I used a large socket that was just a tad smaller than the OD of the seal and tapped it in with a hammer. I don't remember the exact size socket.

Haven't damaged a seal using this method and I've done a few.

This is exactly how I did mine (I also replaced the drivers side seal while I had it all apart). Just use little taps and it will start to go in crooked- tap on the opposite side to drive it in as straight as you can.

:-)

This explains my problem. I had one working originally then a tree broke the connection on top. Ordered a dorman one, now it doesn't work and I can't feel it hit the ball like I could with the other one I had. I don't remember where I bought the original tho, I ordered the dorman one off eBay cuz it was cheap. Looks like I need to go grab one that's a diff brand.

Just ordered one made by crown, hopefully it works better than the Dorman one.

Do you have a part number from crown? If so, would you mind adding it to the write up?

Thanks!
