I recently bought my yj. I'm assuming it has stock axles and gears. I run 55 at 1800 rpm in 4th. I'm new to jeep world so I am very curious.

Thanks
Brandon
Trick question. Stock axles and 37's is a recipe for disaster. Period.

No suggestions for a DD on 37s? I've put about 500 miles on it the last 2 weeks. No trouble besides the carter carb. Got a mc 2100 on its way. I would like to get the gears changed, from what I've read axle shafts can be replaced as well, correct?

Not trying to ask dumb questions just lookin for advice. Like the yj it's a DD and something to take kids fishin and hunting in. Not a rock crawler or mud truck. Just a DD needing some TLC.

Thanks
Brandon

I see your steering is now fixed on your Dana 30. 35's are the max for that axle or 36's if you are stupid like me and threw lots of money at it. I can't see anything close to a pic of your rear axle.

I'm pretty sure the rear is the 35 then. What do you mean stupid money? What about the super 35 kit I've seen? I'd like to beef up what I got and may go with 35s instead. I'm askin for help please.

Thanks
Brandon

Super 35 is a waste of money. However the 8.8 will withstand a 37" tire.
