timing chain

so i had to replace the gasket for the timing chain that was a project and a half itself...everything took a while and it sucked but i got it done besides all the agrivation there was only one problem..well it was leaking oil to begin with so thats y i replaced it..well the only problem with replaing it was that the one bolt on the right side on the bottom gasket wont thread in properly...i loaded that area up with black rtv sealent..ive tried for about and hour to get this bolt in..i may need to re-tap the hole or get a new bolt..i can see the treads but it still doesnt seem to want to tighten..well my question is will i be ok

I seem to recall that cover has quite a bit of movement until the bolts are tightened down, are the other bolts tightened up and possible the cover isn't giving you a straight shot at the hole? If so, maybe try loosening them up and threading that one first. The important thing was to make sure the front seal was centered on the crankshaft.

Outside of that, I'd be pulling the cover back off and inspecting that hole/threads and see if you can get it to go with the cover & RTV out of the way.

the front seal is good ive tried loosening them but it still doesnt seam to work.when i was putting the bolt in it seemed to feel like it was tightening for a little bit the stopped... the seal isint blocking it at all just doesnt seem to want to work really...umm everything seems to be fine..i hate repaing things tho upgrading is soo much better but there isint much to upgrade there....i tried 2 different nights to put that on and bought 2 gasket sets...the bottom gasket that is giving me the problems is a rubber like gasket and i think the only way it will leak is if oil splases up in there so it will be a really slow leak unlike b4 where it leaked like a quart of oil every 20 or so miles
