Tilt Steering Column Adjustability Question

Hey guys, I'm thinking I may need to switch to a tilt steering column. Put in new seats, folding seat risers and sliders on both sides and the steering wheel is on top of my legs.

Can anyone tell me how much adjustment there is from the bottom tilt setting to the top setting?

Thanks guys!

At least 45 degrees. It pivots pretty low and pretty high. I am going to school now, on my way back I will take pictures and post them for you.

Ok thanks, some pics will help me. I guess what I really meant was how many inches of travel is there? I need to figure out if I am going to be able to slide my legs under the steering wheel with a tilt column, or am I going to have to cut down the seat frame. And if it will put the steering wheel at an akward angle in a higher setting to get my legs to fit.

23" from the floor to the bottom of the wheel, 13" from the dash to the bottom of the wheel:

19 from the floor to the bottom of the wheel, 12" from the dash to the bottom of the wheel:

This is the "difference". I couldn't easily hold the tape measure there and take a picture so I used my hands. It's about 3-1/2"-4-1/4" difference.

Please note: I have Grand Cherokee seats, and they're much higher / closer than the stock seats.

Awesome! Thanks idskot! I really appreciate it. That's exctly what I need to know to see it a tilt column is worth it for me, or if I have to make some more mods. I will check it tonight. It's not my DD and not been out of the garage in about a year.

Yeah, I thought your seats were higher than stock. Can you drive it with the steering wheel all the way down or do you raise it some? I usually like my steering wheel pretty low.

It has to be 2 or 3 clicks up in order for me to drive comfortably.

Looks like you're gonna have to figure out a way to get that seat lower. :\
