Tie Rod & Currie 9" Problems

Here is my 89 YJ that's getting a Ford 302/NP435/NP205. I'm in the process of installing the front Currie 9" diff. I ran into a serious problem where the tie rod hits the pumpkin head and is going to prevent the knuckles from articulating back and forth.

What does everyone suggest I do? I'm thinking about having the tie rod professionally bent around the pumpkin head but I understand that it will have to be bent perfectly straight and also problems with shrink come into play.

Are there any other solutions to this problem? Please let me know what you think and I really appreciate it. I know that I am not the only one that has ever had this issue.

Thanks again!

First those shackles are hideous. No offense. Second I would return the tierod and make your own.

Grab a piece of 1.5" tube with .25" wall take it in have it bent to get around the diff throw some tube adapters on it slap some TRE's on it and your done.

Minor challenge to overcome. Sorry to say it but I foresee many more in your future.

You'll have to build one that has bends near the ends to push the tie rod forward away from the cover.

Quite a few full size pickups have tie rods like this for the same reason. You could source one that way if you done want to custom bend one.

Ruffstuff sells offset 1 ton TRE's that may help resolve your problem.

JK's have the same thing. But you don't want that puss assed stuff on your YJ
