Those of you with a BDS lift ...

I'm gearing up to buy some BDS springs and I'm wondering how close they end up to advertised lift. I'm torn between the 2" and the 3.5" springs.

I will be keeping this build similar to my last with a relatively low stance. My previous OME 2.5" springs netted me an actual 3" of lift and I'm curious if BDS is similar. If the 2" springs actually give closer to 2.5-3" then I'm sold.

So what did you actually get? Oh and pics would be cool just cause, well, I like yj porn.

Cheers

I measured before and after I installed my 3.5" springs in the front but I cant remember what the measurements were I think i got an additional 1-1.5" over my old springs, but the problem is I don't even know what those were. Plus I never measured after I broke them in. All of my pics with the 'Cloaks are with 3.5" BDS springs and 5/8 booms.

Would have flexed farther on this one, and 35s would have probably rubbed.

Here's where I'm at; I want to keep her fairly low slung (comparatively). I will have 1/2" booms and a 1" Bl for a TT. With 3.5" springs that 5" of lift already...I was on 3" before and it was just about perfect. I'm considering the 3.5" springs, but not if they give 4" or more of lift. That's just too much for me...

Cheers

P.s. Anti I'm an information whore. I need to know all the "whys" to feel satisfied. I appreciate your input a lot, but I need to know why you suggest what you suggest

Cheers

seeing as you have the 3.5" does it feel like too much?

I have a brand new 3.5" black diamond kit I picked up for a song, hoping for similar results...

Thanks bro. Just give me a call whenever you're free. I should be free all night.

I'm still interested in hearing how much actual lift people are getting from their 2" springs.

Cheers

I installed the BDS 2" just over a year ago... ended up with an immediate 3.5" and just last week I measured and saw it settled about 1/4"... but for all I know that could've happened within the first month of driving.

Sorry, no pics handy at the moment

It only feels like too much for 33s with metalcloaks. Stock fenders would be fine, and 35s with cloaks will be awesome.

Sparrows, are you set on 1/2" booms? If it is too much you could go with zero lift booms to bring it down. Depends on the terrain you wheel, but I like uptravel

What size tires do you want to run? I made the mistake and ordered the 2" springs the first go around because I did not want to deal with the extra work that went with a larger lift. After 2 years I wanted more and ended up ordering the 3.5" springs, SYE, 8.8, and adding a front e locker and re-gearing. I will say that I sold my 2" springs to a buddy and after 8 years there is no sag in his jeep or my 3.5" springs after 6 years of wheeling. I attached a current pic with 35s and mild trimming.
