I guess if you could get it tight enough as to not become a wind catch if the front middle flops down.

Looks like that stuff would work. A little thin, maybe.

The front connects to the crossmember right behind the radiator using nylon barbed pushpins, 4 of em I think. If you get em tight it shouldn't flop around too bad.

Thanks guys. Was debating on 1/4 vs 1/8 in thick maybe 1/4 would hold up better. I think my oem is about 1/8 but a little less flexible than rubber. Thought abouta metal sheet but .. I think i'll stick to something a little more flex and without sharp edges. Would be real nice to have molded plastic aftermArket piece that bols on to the frame holes

Anyway, took some measurements as promised. Here's a quick sketch with rough dimensions. Ignore the radiator location. I drew it in the wrong spot. It is actually in FRONT of the leading edge of the shield. The shield attaches to the cross member just behind the radiator, for you guys trying to fab up and install one. Just refer back to the earlier pics.

It installs using those plastic barbed push pins with the large round head. As I said earlier, I reinforced with wire here and there.

Hope this helps someone.
Awesome sketch. Thanks on behalf of The Internet.

mine was removed, when I used it for anger management trying to drill and tap a manifold bolt, I can tell you that was the best use for it. of course its always a good way to get rid of those loose tie raps laying around.

So i found the part available at vpartsinc.com part number for 2.5l '95 is 55174919 about $9 +$9 for shipping. This is cheaper for me than any other option simply cause i would have to buy the material whether it be rubber or alum/metal sheet. I just ordered so i'll let you guys know when it gets here.

Cheers!
