Registered User | I put mine on the rail that the original top fits into. Basically just spin the hook and move it an inch back of where you have it in the picture. I had mine where yours is but when I bought the tonneu cover I had to move the straps to the back. Get some pliers and slightly bend the hooks closed a littly bit and tighten the straps down. Mine has never come off.. |

Perhaps your jeep has the little loops as well, just look around under the carpet and such. They are directly behind the plate for the rear of the cage on mine. |

Registered User | I had an 89 with a bikini top that had straps that went all the way back like that...I made little brackets out of a small piece of steel and bolted them down using that Torx bolt visible in your pic (there's one on each corner of the back of the Jeep.) they were basically a 1" wide strip of steel, about 3 inches long with two holes in them. One hole went under that bolt like a washer, and the other was what I hooked the top to. I kind of bent the brackets up to match the angle of the strap... __________________ It's too bad stupidity isn't painful "Landrover.....are you being a smart-***...cause I really can't tell." - Btwngreengray "LandRover just became my favourite." -Rob99 "I voted for LandRover..." -martinsburgjeep "You ********* racist" -WarEagle "I don't want to hijack this thread but there is quite a bit of proof of large apes in the US." -MarkoPo |

I just went out to look at mine. I don't seem to have any loops in the rear of the tub either. ![]() __________________ 1995 YJ 2.5L 5 spd. (SOLD) 1996 XJ Sport 4.0/AW4

Web Wheeler Join Date: Dec 2003 Location: Morton IL Posts: 2,271 | I have pretty much the same top as yours. I think mine was called the island accoustico top or something like that. The back straps go where the regular top goes. There is also a strap that is in the middle of the top. It loops around the roll bar and then attaches to the windshield by the loop above the rear view mirror. That strap pretty much holds the top on. The rear ones just keep the back of it from flapping around. __________________ 93 YJ SOA 2" springs front, XJ springs rear w/main leaf added, High pinon 9 inch rear detroit locker front Dana 44 ARB 4.56 Gears, 36 inch Irok tires too much to list. www.mijc.org |

If you don't have them they can be ordered, I think Quadretec has them. They work ten times better than the little clippy things. Dale
