Temp Gauge has gone ROGUE!!!!!!!!

Little b@stard turned on me this Saturday...! Before I get out of my driveway the temp gauge bounces left to right, kinda slows down as I come to a stop, rev the engine and keeps right on dance'n all crazy like. Gentlemen, your opinion please: Where do I start looking for the fix?

I anticipate each response ready to issue my eternal gratitude for bestowing the knowledge that is JEEP.

The single purple wire going to the Seder is grounding out somewhere between the gauge pod and the sensor. When the wire grounds out the gauge will peg to the right.

Tried it. My gauge cluster has no concern for authority. Went as far as a VERY stern lecture detailing the importance of respect, proper operation and tempature expectations... Then I hit it a few more times and flipped 'em the bird... Still nothing.

If that's not it, I have 2 options:
1.)I'll just put some duct tape somewhere.
2.)Paint over the gauge.

I'll check the manifold sensor tonight. That gives my wife time to go to bed/sleep so I can sit on the couch, drink beer and play Call of Duty until 4 in the morning. It's a win-win.
