Tell Us You Restoration Story
Hi there i just recently bought a 89 YJ and i'm restoring it. I thought it would be cool to hear what everyone else did in their restorations. Tell us what you did and remember photos are always welcome.
My budget is tight so i needed to bring my yj in daily driver mode first. So far i changed the distributor cap and rotor, plugs, plug wires, valve cover gasket, installed a posi-lock, fixed all of the rust, painted my fender flares and hard top, and changed all fluids. Next i will replace the seats. Looking forward to hearing your story.

well dude, i tore my tub right off. painted the frame with por and painted the underneath with por. i replaced the windshield frame, windshield, and patched up all the rust holes. as far as engine maintence all i've done is an oil change, valve cover gasket, water pump, alternator, starter, put in a jacobs ignition system, plugs, wires, fuel pump, map sensor, oil pressure sensor. also i took out that crappy plastic looking dash and replaced it with some bent up sheet metal and just left the heater right out. just looped some hoses up in the engine compartment. i dunno i really didn't go all that extreme with restoring the jeep. the most extreme thing i probably did was buy it some nice new shoes, 33x 13.5 ltbs' mmmm here's some random pics that show some of the process. now my only words of wisdom that i can release for fear of the man is if your patching rust, weld from the bottom. take the tub right off and flip it to weld, much easier in the long run. http://community.webshots.com/user/jeep795?vhost=community&vhost=community
