Tell me if you think this is a good buy..

Theres a local dealer with a 95 Sahara for sale.. This has got to be the cleanest YJ ive ever seen in my life.. It only has 35000 miles on it, they put an after market a/c unit in it (which is good because im a big a/c person ) New tires that look sort of weak, so ill replace those right away, theyre asking 8500 for it, im in car sales for a living so that translates to about 7500 for me, they told me it was owned by an elderly woman who traded it + a cherokee for a grand cherokee, its also a 5sp.. thoughts?

Ps hi im a newbie

Sounds like a GREAT deal to me. I paid $5500 for my 95' with the 2.5L, no A/C and 91,000 miles. If that deal was in front of me I would jump all over it. Just my thoughts. Later <><

For some reason I'm having trouble picturing an elderly woman driving a 5-speed Wrangler.... but anyway sounds like a real nice Jeep to me. And with only 35K on it! I'd go for it.

Sounds like a good deal. Just don't get too excited. You said you're in car sales, so I'm assuming you know what to look for. However, just a reminder, check the frame for rust and damage, check under the carpet to make sure you'r floors aren't rusting through. And at that mileage, look under the hood and see how clean it is. I got mine with 28,000 on it, and it was nearly spotless under the hood without being steamed.

BTW, welcome to the addiction.

Haha I had a 97 Wrangler SE before, that was a pig and a half so i got rid of it, i had the addiction but not to the fullest extent of enjoyment. I will check out the frame, ty for the under the carpet advice. The engine is VERY clean we checked yesterday when we looked at it, it was spotless and didnt have any of that spray on dealer make it shiny crap.

Ok im leaving for real to go drive the bish

Sounds like a local trade.
For that much money, I'd insist on a name and phone number to call the previous owners and discuss the history of this YJ.
The salesman may try telling you that giving out that kind of info is against company policy and is private information.
Make the salesman beleive that its going to take you making contact with the previous owner before closing this deal (Do it) and see what happens.

What's the old saying? Beware the naked man trying to sell you his shirt?

The price is high-reasonable. The story behind it stinks. Get a CarFax..
