I need help identifying some wires. Im in the process of cleaning up my stock wire harness. Im left with a few wires that i dont know where they go to. These wires are going to the harness on the driver side fire wall. The colors are

Orange/yellow trace
Green (not the one that goes to the oil pressure sending unit)
Green/white trace
Brown/white trace
Light green (not the one that goes to the oil pressure sending unit)
Pink
Yellow

All these wire goes to the left side plug on the driver side firewall.

#1 fill out your profile and add the following to your question. None of us know what year/engine /tranny YJ you are talking about.

Reason? Often they change the colors of the wires in their harnesses.

Maybe someone can help you then. :)

I pulled the carburator. Its in the process of a tbi conversion. While doing the conversion I was cleaning out the stock wire harness to eliminate all the wires I don't need that was connected to the stock ecu. I was left with these wires clipped and don't know if they are important or not!?

EVERY wire that goes through the firewall to the stock ECM can be eliminated. Have you thought about going to the Howell web site and reading their install instructions? That's likely going to be a better source than a bunch of guys guessing what you've got going on.

The Howell installation instruction doesn't tell you how to eliminate the wires. These wire are going to the conector on the driverside firewall.

Are these the wires you are talking about? I think they all go Bye- Bye since they all go to the ECM which you aren't using anymore.http://home.comcast.net/~laybackman/...ixignition.JPG

To be honest I don't think so. The wires I mention all go to the left side of the bulkhead on the driverside firewall.

Use this picture and greyarea's information in this posting:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/j...te-up-1066016/
check his second posting which lists the wiring going through C100 and you should be good to go!

Ok I got it figured out guys. Thanks very much. From the bulkhead at the firewall

1) Orange...........................ignition
2) Green/white tracer.........tach
3) Yellow.............................ignition switch
4) Pink.................................under hood lamp
5) Green...............................starter relay
6) Light green.......................a/c couch
7) Brown..............................fuse diode

All I need out of these seven wires is only 1, 2, 3, 5. Now my new question is, in my tbi swap I'm using the ford tfi coil with a 8 pin module, and a converted stock distributor. How do I wire these four wires for my setup?
