Swapped out my exhaust manifold today...

I'll be doing a write up in the next few days. I took plenty of pictures along the way.
I do have one tip for anyone doing it soon though. REMOVE YOUR FENDER!!!!

It took like 20-30 min to take the driver side fender off, and I honestly would have lost my f***ing mind trying to fight with it with the fender still on.

This is why I joined here and felt it was worth the membership.

I need to replace my manifold and the information here is priceless.

<<<<<69 although this won't make sence next time I post.

I would rather have a broke Jeep, than no Jeep at all.

The wonderful voice of experience.....I found out the hard way and was told after I was frustrated and cussing trying to get the EGR(Yep on the 87-90 2.5L EGR) and those lower middle bolts by someone on the forum to remove the fender. I bet I spent 3 or 4 hours and at least a 6 pack trying it the hard way! Glad to hear it went well. How does it drive with the new manifold?

Do you recall having a donut gasket between your manifold and the exhaust down pipe?

Odd, there was on my 92' 4.0. And on my XJ. So I replaced it when I did my manifold swap.

I've got to replace the intake/exhaust gasket on mine and after having done it once before, I'm waiting till I pull the fenders for the new MetalCloaks before doing it.

Wasn't one on my '90 either.

I see the Autozone catalog lists donuts for some, but not all.

I know for certain that there is a donut gasket for the 4.0. The 4.2 does not use one. I'm unsure on the 2.5s though.
