Super Swamper Modifications

Hi all. Long time lurker, few time poster. It always seems that whenever I get a good idea or a reply to a topic, a dozen of yall have already beat me to the punch line. Doh!

Anyways, I've siped my super swampers earlier this year, except for the spare since it was left over from my older set of tires. Not being able to leave well enough alone, or an un-modded part un-modded, I got an idea. One I hope hasn't been done yet.

I broke out the utility knife, and edited the raised "Super Swamper" lettering to read "Super Jeep". I figure that this adds about 10 more hp. Plus it makes my almost bald spare feel like more of a manly tire.

Here are links to the pictures I took. Hopefully someone can make them non click. Two jeep waves for the first one that does this. This is my first time tryin to post some pic links, so if I screw it up, lemme know.

On a side note, siping my tires took about 2 hours each, and a couple dozen utility knife blades. I cut down 1/2" on the tires when they were brand new. I tried to keep the number of cuts evenly spaced on the chevrons - measued and marked each one before I cut. It helped to jack up each corner to spin the tire as I went.

They handle so much better on wet and snowy pavement. Almost like a really crappy street tire. But seriously, 100% better in wet conditions. I'm not sure but I think it even quited them down. Off road traction improved tremendously. Hill crawl-ability is better then ever. This is my first time siping tires, so I'm learning as I go here. Rock on.

Looks like you did a real nice job.

I hand groove my MT/R's. It takes me ~8 minutes total per tire (using a high-end quality groover). I did 4 tires & didn't ruin a blade.
