Super Important question

So I'm in the Jeep today and my son in the backseat asks: "Dad what does that box below the four wheel drive do?" And I realized, I had no idea. So what is the light below the four wheel drive indicator?

Also, Mean Max I've spent all day working on my buddies 98 Cherokee and he was a Combat Engineer as well. :P lol
