Build a box with a slanted front (to match the back seat), build it big enough to fit snug. I've seen others build these and they won't come out if you lock the rear tailgate as the slant prevents it from being lifted upwards. Bolt it down for additional safety. Down-firing subs would be best. I'll see if I can find a link as I was researching this recently (ended up using a compact, self-powered sub and enclosing the rear hatch area.

drilll holes in the side of the box and bolt it to the wheel well or make something that allows you to do this without going through the wheel well like weld a plate on or so on.

^ What he said. That is exactly how I built mine. Its a 12" solobaric kicker and fits very snug. Won't slide around even without bolting it down.

I have it for sale, actually, if you were interested. 1200 watt Lanzar amp, 1 ohm stable w/ remote bass control. I see you are in NJ. I'm in north eastern PA. PM me if you are interested.

The best way is to build a box that fits tightly in there. Make sure you can latch your seat into the locked positon. Then even if they can unlatch the latch they can't get it out with out opening the rear gate. Trust me I know.

Use L-shaped brackets and drill the sub into place. Let's be honest, if you don't want someone else getting at it, chances are you won't be taking it out that often either. Give yourself some security with the screws. Hardware was included in my Kicker Install.
