Stretching upper half doors

I've got my hands on a yj with upper soft sliders. There is a snap at the lower front that doesn't quite reach. what is the best way to get them to stretch to reach the other half of the snap on the lower door. Also the snap in belt on them is warped, would a heat gun fix that? sorry for the dumb questions, and I'll try to get a pic in the morning
