stock shackle question

Hello, I've been reading differant threads on leafs and shackles, and at the moment I can't afford to replace them. What I was wondering can the shackles be loosend up and adjusted to give more bend to the leaf springs? If so how is this done?

My rear leafs are flat and the front has a little bend and the shackles look to be angled forward.

my yj is going to the body shop to have that famous rear right frame welded, there's a crack there (rear shackle location)

Theses are stock and it's my daily drive, no plowing or towing haven't even gone off road yet...

The shakle lift is cheap and easy to do. You can find a set on ebay or craigslist for around $50 and they are easy to put in. They dont raise it a ton but you do know the differnce and you can clear 31 inch tires with no problem. I think it would be the cheap road while doing a little upgrade to the jeep aswell

I think I seen those but in differant size, what size should I get? What you said sounds perfect. Is there a kit for this, that will come with what I need.

I don't think I'm understanding your question. When you say "more bend to the leaf springs" are you looking for more lift or more travel for the leaf springs to flatten? If you install shackles that are too long, your leaves will bend in the opposite direction and will not flex well at all. On the other hand, if your springs have an arch to them, it takes more travel to flatten them and longer shackles to achieve said travel. Design also helps.

How abouts I just shut up and throw you a link?

Edit: I understand your question now. You're looking to loosen up the shackle to rearch your spring. It ain't gonna happen. Once you're flat, it's flat. It's like tuning your valve stem cap to reinflate a tire with a gaping hole in the sidewall.

I wasn't thinking about changing the shackles, I was looking to get more bend in my leaf springs, so I should have been more clear. I thought if you moved the shackles that would give more bend. Guess I'll look for a add leaf kit.
