Stock Lockers

Quick newb question here. I read that the Sahara had a rear locker OPTION in 1992 with a standard feature LSDs front and rear. However the following year 1993 it just said the Sahara had all options. Does this mean from 1993 on it had a rear locker as a standard option, or was that a typo and suposed to be Limited Slip Diff? Just asking because its a deciding factor in a kicked-in-the-face 1994 Sahara whether to get it or not. Any help is great.

Also if you have any diff codes...those would be great too.

The 1st and only Jeeps ever that came with lockers from the factory were the 2003 Rubicons. Any Jeep that has lockers before then (or any other Jeep model) would be aftermarket.

I asked a similar question a while back. From what I understand the Saharas had a LSD as an option. My '88 definately has it.

there was an option on the yj's for a rear LSD in the D35 which they called a trac-loc or something like that. it would sound to me like a locker, but it's just a LSD. you can tell by the tag on the housing, or raised both rear wheels off the ground, and while turning one, if they both spin the same direction, it's LSD....if they spin opposite directions, it's open.

Thanks for all the quick replys guys. Helped clear that up fast. Unfortunitly, it looks like this Sahara has a tweaked frame (previous owner rolled it before deal repossessed). It would need a lot of body work which isnt a big deal on the Wrangler (so nice how everything just comes off), but the frame is bent bad enough to where the doors dont line up right anymore, so I doubt it can be aligned within spec enough to have 4wd work properly either
