Starter Problems(would TJ starter work?)

I have a 94 yj and my starter went. I got a free starter but its out of a 99. Would it work? Or are they completely different?

I'm pretty sure they are different. IIRC my buddies YJ (4cyl) had a starter where the bolts ran vertically into the block, where my tj (6cyl) bolts run horizontaly.

I would say rip out your starter and compare them side-by-side... it may work, but i doubt it.
