Starter Help. Two unique bolts holding it on.

I'm trying to change the starter on my jeep, But I found two bolts that aren't hex head. They look like a reverse torx head or something. I've tried a 12 point socket and they slip on it and I don't want to risk stripping them.

Anyone know what these heads are called, and if there is a special socket or wrench for them?

You will need female torx sockets to remove those. I got my set at Sears.

They are called external torx.

I would remove them with vice grips and replace with a standard 6-point hex head bolt. Assuming they come loose easy enough.

Yup external torx hold it up. One on each side going straight up into the block.
