I cant see the pic but if you can wiggle it it is not getting a good ground. Seriously cut the ground for the fuel pump and ground it to the frame by the pump. Then it wont leave you sitting while you get the gauges ground straightened out.
EDIT: It doesnt take much of anything to break the ground a thin layer of corrosion a tiny bit of rust will do it as well.
