Speedometer gear troubles

Alright so, I need to replace my speedometer gear and I'm having several issues.
One, I can't get the old one out. Do I need special tools?
2. I'm running 31x10.5 tires with 3.73 rear axle ratio. I used the chart on jeep4x4center.com and it says I need a gear with 33 teeth.
I called the dealership and they said they have 2 sizes of gears, .75in diameter and 1.5in diameter. Only the 1.5in ones come with 33 teeth, but that definitely won't fit in my car.

I can't just order the one off of the website because it says its for 91-95 jeeps with electronic speedos and mine is an 89 with a cable driven speedo.
Does anybody know what kind of gear I need to get and where I can find one?
Thanks
