spacer blocks or lift kit
my leaf springs look like the originals but are actually in have decent shape, the shicks are practically gone an rusted out and im worried about my new tires rubbing when i flex with a stock lift.
So i'm thinking i need to replace the shocks either way but as far as lift would it be better in the long to just get a 2, 2.5 lift kit an replace the shocks an get new springs, or just replace the shocks an just lift up the tub for now running the stock leafs i'm just thinking which is gonna be better on my wallet in the long run of things

In the long run, you're gonna want a lift kit.

Anything but rough country
From what I gather, Old Man Emu is the way to go for best quality. Not the best for budget though.

I would stay away from body lift. They look damn ugly and are not really that practical. You don't seem like your really going for the wheeling aspect of it, maybe more for looks? If you're really on a tight budget and don't care, go with a low priced kit, something around 2.5 inches. A body lift is going to cost you about $100-$150 anyways.

1" body lift is the max that most people on this board would recommend concerning body lifts. They are relatively cheap to gain that extra inch of clearance. Then get some TJ flares for more tire clearance as well.
Thats the cheapest way to go for a little bit of more clearance IMO. |

I would suspect you judgement on those stock spings if you have many miles. How big of tires are you going to run? I would recomend no bigger than a one inch body lift, also no bigger than 1" lift shackles. If you can aford it, DC4WD should be able to give you a good price on new springs. I just got a 2" BDS lift from him. Shipped to Spokane, WA, the springs alone were $303; $450 including the kit but without shocks.

DC has a 2.5 lift kit for just over 600$, if the quality is good that sounds alright

I dunno...if ya can't afford to do it right at this time, ya might just wanna hold off on wheelin' til you can! I agree with nixing the body lift, won't gain ya more than ya lose... you REALLY need to go with a suspension lift, and even a decent 2" will cost ya pretty close to $600... Unfortunate, but true, it is an expensive hobby.

Nothing wrong with RC, there's a lot of negative reviews out there but I love mine, as do most people I've ran into with their lifts
