soon to be problem, how to prevent?

well I went out to check the air filter for the Jeep today and I noticed some anti-freeze build up on the radiator.

It's small right now, but is there anyway I can plug this up and stop it now before it progresses? or am I doomed until I get a new radiator? The radiator in general seems to be in great shape, hardly any rust.

Perhaps Bar's Leaks could help out here. it's only good for small stuff but might do the trick.

Are you certain it isn't just coming out from the radiator cap??? If not, a radiator repair shop can probably fix that cheap, especially if you remove the radiator yourself and just have them pressure test and fix what leaks you may have.
It looks like the seam for the tank may be splitting, is that another leak in the lower picture just opposite the rad. hose? If so you just need to bring it to a radiator repair shop, I know they are still around in NY, not sure about where you are but they should still be around....... YELLOW PAGES

Check the rubber ring on the cap. I know mine is all cracked and rotted.

You could clean it up good with a wire brush, drain the antifreeze down to the top of the inner tubes and solder it up yourself. I need to do mine. The brass is thin and a soldering iron or small torch will make quick work of it. It just needs to be real CLEAN. Or take it to a rediator shop.

Proper way is to wire brush it down, clean it with acid , then use a tinning agent and then apply solder, problem is that if it is the seam, most likely more of it will split in time, best way is have the radiator guys fix it right. Like I said, you will save a whole bunch if you remove the radiator yourself.

If you use a sealant, I suggest Silver Seal or Alumnaseal...suggest only a half a container to start...REAL effective stuff!

I keep one in the glovebox. The stuff works great, won't clog or gum anything up and seals leaks fast.
