Something loose in front end ???
In my 93 Sahara It seems when ever I hit any kind of bump, it soounds like a thump under my feet and the passenger side feet, IVe taken it in to get checked and everything is tight and hooked up, I was thinking if I knew more where to look I could point it out, Shocks maybe???

hard to tell without being under the heep... grab everything and shake it... could be motor mounts.. trans mounts... sway bar links.. shackles... track bar mounts (in which case just remove them) exhaust.... the possibilities are almost endless :/

I too had a thump at my feet and looked every where for the problem. Found a thread on here about the hood to cowl seal not being as thick as it was when new and causing a thumping sound and you could feel it. Put on a new seal and the thump and feeling in the floor board went away. Drove me crazy trying to find it. Just a thought or something to look at. I found it by having the hood closed and latched and grabbed the hood at the back where it meets the cowl and fender and picked up and it had movement. Good luck and hope you find the cause.

Ill check both those things , which one is the trackbar? which one has the shock on it , is it for steering? Thanks alot guys for the help

the front track bar (a stock YJ has a front and rear) bolts to the frame on the driver side just a little behind the steering box, and bolts to the axle on the passenger side just above the leaf spring perch. if you remove it, you'll have a much smoother (less jarring) ride... and I'd bet your thumping noise goes away (or greatly diminishes)

Thump at your feet, feels like its tapping right under you? Check this....

The bracket in the pic is tack welded to the underside of the floor pan, if its rotted loose it taps the floor pan with bumps. Drove me nuts for weeks looking for my mysterious tap...

under both sides... It can be riveted to the floor pan if you don't weld...

The time now is 07:36 PM.
