Well, the BDS kits better have a lifetime warrenty and great customer service. The 3 1/2" kit for the YJ is $911.00 whereas a RE and Black Diamond are about $475.00 for their 3 1/2" kits.

Paid, 460 out the door for 4 bds 3.5" springs and bushings. Everything else you need you can come up with for less than a hundred bucks.

That is something I have thought threw. I am looking for a 1.5" SUA, then go SOA when I get everything else.

I've had my XD on for 2.5 years now with a winch and bumper on the front and full size spare and carrier on the rear and haven't noticed any sagging. Eye bolts a little too loose maybe? Then again I only run a soft top and don't haul any fat chicks either.

BTW RE doesn't make 3.5" kits.

no sag to report over here, but i have bent 2 springs. but that's just the way i wheel. i've slammed them on some nicely sized rocks quite a few times. and to be honest, i'm surprised they've held up as well as the have.

with RE it is labeled the 1.5" SOA, but when you get it, you can simply turn the bolt and nut around and use it for a SUA application... that is what I did for now, and when i get the axles i want built the way i want then i will do everything at once so that way the jeep wont be sitting on jackstands for weeks at a time... by itself it gives a decent lift, and because it is the extreme duty leafs they shouldnt sag at all...

Did U buy the springs new? Are U sure its sag or just "settling in"? Did U have more than 4.5" from the get-go? Is it F and R, or just one end? Currious...

just got mine this season...used... so far so good.

I didn't buy the kit, most of it I didn't need I just picked up part # 004500, (4) for a total of $460.00. That's (4) 5" springs, I don't run the sway bar or track bars, already had longer shocks and a pitman arm. Picked up the brak lines local for $25.

Well, I have a RE 4.5 XD and I don't have any sag. I got more than 4.5 inches of lift when I put it on, and there is still more than 4.5 inches of lift, and my Jeep is fat. V-8, winch, bumper, rocker guards, subwoofers, tools, hardtop in the winter, and mine isn't sagging, and I have had mine almost 3 years. It flexs great, and rides good for a Jeep on 35's. I take mine offroad, and flex it all the time and I don't have problems.

Others have told me the BDS 5" spring rides pretty well enough, but how does it flex... wondering if it would compare to the RE ED 4.5???

btw... did that price include bushings?

Sounds steep, Shop around, the full kit generally goes for 650-700 ish, while still more the quality is worth it

the warranty paper that says 'unconditional lifetime warranty' is great

I have the BDS kit intended for SOA apps (2.5" when I bought it) It rides great, flexes great, and I have it SUA right now... hopefully spring that will change.

Everyone said that BDS are great and that the customer service was awesome...lifetime warranty on the springs.

Others said to get the Rubicon Express springs. I was warned that although they perform well, the only problems were that they sag and that the customer service sucks.

Guess what? After 4 months my rear springs are sagging. Now I have to get an add a leaf to raise it back up. It is at least 1/2 inch low...maybe a full inch.

To those of you searching for which springs to use I give you this word of warning: I was told that they would sag, and they did. Get something other than the Rubicon Express springs.

They ride well, but no way should they have started to sag that quickly and that badly.
mine sagged too. i dont mind the lower center of gravity. in the back, i fixed it with the 5/8" shackles from currie. (boomerangs)

if you get pissed off and want to change them, let me know. i am interested in your sagged out springs, or the whole set.

Flexes better than my buddies ridding 1.5" RE, set up SOA. The ride is very comparable to the 2.5" BDS springs. NO that price did not include bushings.
