some ?s on engine swap or trans swap

I have a 94 with a 2.5 manual and like the auto much better for wheeling. my question is would putting a auto in with the 2.5 be worth anything or would a engine sway and trans swap be the only option? I like the 2.5 motor I have just heard they are a real dog with the auto.

thanks
Mark

I wouldn't put an auto behind a 4 cylinder. You would have no power and i don't even know what trans would bolt up to that.

'94 and '95 4bangers had an auto option. It was the TF904 but I do agree, if your gonna go to an auto, ditch the 4 angry squirrels.

The 2.5 is a real dog with an auto, you will have to look down at the ground to see if your even moving. The 2.5 works best with the manual. "DON'T FEAR THE GEAR". Throw some gear behind the 2.5 and you won't have to ride the clutch as much, it will idle over obsticles in low range. Deep gears will make wheeling with a 4 cylinder much more enjoyable.
