Some pics of my 91 YJ restoration
I'll start with what it looked like the day I drove it home, engine rattling like it had a box of rocks in the cylinders. Also a Pic of the donor motor.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see, I have my hands full on this one, but what the heck, everyone needs a time sink anyway right?

I am with you there man. As nice as it is to have a jeep in good condition that doesn't need work, its well kinda boring. I love workin on my jeep, even if it is just repairing it. I used to have a 74 camaro to restore. Just didn't have time or space for it. Couldn't aford to drive it every day. So now I have a dailydriver and a resto job all in one. Even if I got everything I wanted for this jeep I would still come up with things to do on it.

A few after pics. Long ways to go, but getting there slowly.
All repairs done by either complete replacement (both front fenders) or cutting out the rust and welding in sheet metal (lower tub, notice no Jeep logo stamped ![]() ![]() ![]() I've done a bit more than is shown, but as you can see, the light is rather poor for decent shots. I'll update as I go along. Notice the transplant motor is resting comfortably in it's new home and running like a raped ape ![]() |

Good job on the work there. I need some body work like that done on the drivers side. You do realize you could have gotten sheet metal with the stamped logo from JCwhitney for like $40? Course you might be happy with out it, but I gotta have my logo.

Yes, I knew I could get the small piece with the logo, but it was a tough descision. There wasn't enough rust to justify buying the entire side of the tub to replace it, yet there was more than the small front piece covered. In the end, I decided to cut a piece to fit instead of either overpaying for the entire side on both sides, or, piecing the parts that the smaller replacement panel didn't cover. I Will have my stamp, I'm just not quite sure how yet, hehe.

Well in my case its different. My panel is rusted out and bent up below the logo. However there are other rust spots all along the rocker all the way back. They are not through but are bad enough that they warrent removing and fixing. So for me $40 is a good deal. Now I just gotta find someone that welds to hook me up.
