Softtop protectant for winter

I know there has been alot of talk about softtops in the winter, and I have decided to go for it, but I was wondering if there was something I should treat my top with before the snow falls.

I have a best top (that doesn't fit around my door properly small gap, any hints to make it fit tight would be great) I am not sure what the top is made of. It's fairly new though got it with the Jeep this summer.

Any helps great
Thanks
