soa with suspension and shackle lift
this seems kind of ridiculous to me. and even kind of pointless... maybe. but for the sake of discussion. what do you think of doing the soa conversion along with already having a 4 inch rough country lift and an 1 1/4 inch shackle lift. what would be the obstacles? the necessities for doing this? what kind of other upgrates would be involved along with some kind of cost. has anyone done this? what would be the purpose?
just kind of thought it'd be an interesting topic, im not actually considering doing it, im not in the position to do this now as my heep isnt even running, and i dont know why i would need it

i read that soa could get you 5-7 inches so it could be 10 1/4 to 12 1/4. that'd be interesting. also with no sway or trac bars

more then interesting.
your cog with be 10" higher then you add about 5-9" more b/c the tires.
you will need to go full width and strech it then i still dont think it would be good for anything but a mall crawler.

Personally I think it's too high. But, that's for me. A stretch and full width would be a must. Otherwise it would just scary

Full width = the axles are swapped in from a fullsized truck, which are much wider.

Not necessarily.
Yes, you *can* stretch the frame & move the axle mounting points further away, but there's more ways to skin that cat.
You can also use springs which have the centerpin offset - which can stretch the wheelbase.
You can also use spring perches that have multiple centerpin mounting holes in them as well (these perches are usually longer than normal). You can stretch the wheelbase a couple inches using them as well, especially if you do it at both ends.
You can also open up a whole can of worms by doing any of these options.
EG: Now the gas tank can come in contact with the rear axle unless this area is addressed in the overall game plan. Lengthening the fuel lines etc are sometimes needed too - especially if the rear frame is extended in the mix of things.
I have helped do all of these options and combo's of them & then others as well. It can get tricky quick.

i know any lift can be tricky. even a shackle lift (i know from experience). but combining all of these would almost be a daunting task. whats the biggest lift you guys have seen? pictures?

I have as well, and like you mentioned, they are often booty fabbed & end up being a big POS & barely driveable. Often being a big waist & poorly put together due to lack of understanding and poor approach.
