Snorkel

Does anyone know if anyone makes a snorkel kit for a 1990 wrangler YJ with the 2.5 L. Every site I check out says not compatible and I know I seen a lot of YJ's with snorkels. Any Idea? Or do you just buy one like for a TJ and make it fit?

You have to modify the ducting to make it work run the hose to a inline airfilter housing that holds a cone filter and run more ducting to the tb or carb. On older YJ's. fwiw I had a arb snorkel on my 95 Yj that was a 2.5l

I run a snorkel on my 89 2.5

All my under hood stuff is custom. I bought the ARB snorkel off craigslist. But the TBI 2.5l motors came with a different airbox than the MPFI 2.5l motors and I think thats why theyre not listed for the TBIs. So you can either swap airboxs or make it work with what you got.

Wasnt hard at all, just had to move the airbox up and back a little bit

That's a yj snorkel the Tj snorkels mount on the passenger side. Not to mention the windshield and snorkle are angled different

Thanks! Like Tom said, this is a YJ snorkel. Its an ARB safari snorkel. I explained in my last post how I hooked it up under the hood to make it work with the TBI setup, not hard to do

I have yet to see one on ebay that looks like it mounts on the drivers side. All say tj yj then you look at the years and it's like '99 '06 or 96 to '06 which is not even a yj. tried looking at ARB, Quadratrac, and a few other sites with no results for a YJ. Maybe I should look under CJ-7.

Look up safari snorkel for 87-95 wrangler. I know for a fact they have them I bought the one on my 95 from quadratec. And I sold a few when I worked for 4wheel parts. imageuploadedbyautoguide1371746139.436837.jpg

He would have to cut a hole in he cowl then fire wall to so that. It's not like a Tj with a removable cowl
