smittybilt spare tire relocation bracket

Anyone have anything to say about these? Not ready for a tire carrier, my 33 is fine but I need to raise it to clear a new rear bumper. I have bumperette and I can see a new bumper will not fit. Does this product in fact raise the tire much?

Thoughts on others.

Your best bet is a swing away tire carrier connected to the bumper. The stock hinges aren't happy with having a spare tire on them let alone a heavy 33" monster hanging. I've seen the tailgate crack at the hinges after just tooling around trails with the stocker. You would be best off to hinge that weight at the frame not the tub. The hard top will also not open with that tire carrier on there.

I would pass unless you upgrade to some TJ hinges with serious reinforcements.

A slight notch in the hard top already allows for the larger tire. I am just curious if this product lifts the tire vertically? Likely to keep the bumperette for a while anyways, no rock playing. When I take the hard top off with warmer weather I will keep an eye for hinge wear. Otherwise this setup for years has worked.
