Smittybilt Rear TJ Tube Fenders?

Has anyone put these flares on their YJ? I was thinking if I am going to get them, why not go with the TJ ones right? Anyone have the TJ's on a YJ?

Don't see why it wouldn't work. I know the corners are the same, cause I have Poison Spyder TJ corners on mine. Just an FYI though the fuel filler will require you to cut into the wheel well in the actual TJ position. I just made a little sheet metal cover to go over it and covered it in herculiner.

the Smittybilt TJ and YJ rear tube fenders are the same product, the only difference is the instructions that come with it. Should open up the rear wheelwells some, just like running rear TJ plastic flares.

Yeh, I gathered that by the original question. I just didn't look at the price and didn't realize the fender was separate from the rest of it, I thought it was all one piece. If you're bolting those to the tub, it'll be no different than using any other TJ flare.

Are you sure on this? my new smitty YJ rear tube flares are sitting in my garage and they line up exactly and do not enlarge the wheel well at all.

I do not have the email saved anymore, but when I ordered mine, I contacted Smittybilt directly to make sure that the YJ flare part # and the TJ part # for the rear flares were in fact the same flare. I was told by them that the only difference is the installation instructions...

They have to be different.. Because if u put the yj flares on a Tj then it would make the wheel well smaller.

I have a set sitting at home (i'm up at college right now but going home this weekend.) I will get pictures of them and post them up to verify. The only reason I bought mine was because I liked the tube flare look and wanted a larger wheelwell for my 33's

If you have the Tj flares, take some measurements and I have the yj flares, I will take measurements as well.

I ordered the YJ rear flare kit, and took some measurements of them today. measured from the shorter side (rear) across the bottom to the longer side (front of flare) and it came up 33-3/4". From that horizontal line I measured up to the bottom of the mounting flange, and got 13". Just eyeballing the Smittybilt flare to my brothers stock 89 YJ rear flares, it looks as though the Smittybilt YJ flares are a good inch or two wider and taller than stock, allowing for more room. IDK if it is the same measurement as the TJ flares, but I would have to assume that because of the larger size for YJ's that it is close to a stock TJ flare.
