Sirius antenna mounting

Just got a sirius sportster satellite radio. Leaving the antenna on top of the dash doesn't get a very good signal. I have the soft top on right now so attaching to the roof won't work.

Is there someplace you guys mount the antenna to get a good signal?

I bought 2 exhaust clamps, popped them on the roll bar (flat side up) and just stuck the magnet to the flat pieces. Ran the wire under the rollbar pad, and was done. Works great through my soft top.

I had a piece of sheet metal that i zip tied to the top of my roll bar with 2 zip ties, antenna magnet stuck to sheet metal.
Great signal through soft top

Mine sits on top of the speaker bar over the passenger side speaker. There is a fabric flap that wraps around the roll bar and velcros to the top of the speaker bar. I put the antenna underneath that (there is some metal there that the magnet can rest on), ran the wire down the rollbar padding with the speaker wire harness and followed the harness all the way to the dash. Works great, top on or off.

I centered mine on the dash, hard or soft top perfect reception. I just used a dab of rtv to hold it in place.

Saw a newer wrangler with it mounted on the cowl just to the left (driver side) of the hood vent. Looked alright

My antenna is round and fit perfectly on top part of windshield frame, passenger side. I have no roof so the wire runs neatly down inside of frame tucked under rubber molding.

I sandwiched a short length of 1/8" x 1" angle iron between the windshield frame and the loop above the rearview mirror. It gets it up out of the way, plus great reception.
