Side Mirrors when doors are off, suggestions?

Hey everyone. Does anyone have any suggestions for side mirrors to slide on when I take my doors off? The only ones I seem to find (JC Whitney, etc), are Safari mirrors. They run about 60 dollars. They seem really cheap, but like the way they just slide into door hinges. Very easy. Again, however, they seem really cheap. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Or am I overthinking this? Thanks!

Places like Quadratec, Morris 4X4 sell mounting brackets that go over your windshield hinges. You can mount mirrors there when you go doors off. Something like this:

I have some random aftermarket ones that mount on the windshield frame hinge:

http://www.noeither.com/YJ/pictures/exterior/IMG_2930.JPG

The only issue I have with them (and relocated stockers) is that once you put the doors on with uppers you usually block your pass side mirror. Luckily I usually run a bikini and no doors.

For everyone that runs doors the BEST solution I can think of is to leave you stock mirrors where they are and get some that mount on the door hinge when it is removed:

Something along these lines:

mirrors off of cjs and earlier model YJ's (87-90) had mirrors attached to the windshield frame. grab some from one of these and get a couple of brackets on the internet and you should be good.

Ophi,
Appreciate the link. I have my first Quadtrec catalog on the way in the mail. Those do look nice, but I am still kind of leaning towards the ones that slide in the hinges with the doors are off. Something temporary and do not need to add hardware to jeep right now. That is my thinking right now and I think the safari mirrors are my only choice, no matter how cheesy they are.

Locked up (or anyone for that matter). The mirrors on the link you sent says it fits a 97-06 Jeep. Does this mean they wouldnt fit my 93? Or is this just a "suggestion"?

This is what I did, I got CJ type hinges and new mirrors. That way I never have to change them. I pulled the little car mirror off the full doors.

You were correct on the CJ part but not the YJ part. Yj mirrors have always been on the doors.

I used an upper windshield hinge bracket made by Warrior that I got from Quadratec:

(Click the pic for the page) with my OEM mirrors. Here is a Review I posted some time back that details what I went through to do it, and how I did it.

The only thing I have to add is that I plan to replace the OEM mirrors with ones that I can position like CJ mirrors because the OEM ones are simply too close to the door for my liking; alternatively I may just get CJ type mirrors and be done with it and either take off these mirror relocaters or leave them for something else like lights.

Actually he's close. It was 87 that had them mounted to the windshield hinge. Even the Quadratec catalog has a separate listing for 87 YJ mirrors.
Here's a pic of mine (I replaced the rusty mirrors with the Q-tec ones)...
