shock question

I currently have a 3.5" lift and want to put on some OME shocks from a 2.5" kit. If I move my shock mounts higher up on the axle can I use the OME shocks? What if I went SOA?

After I bent some no name front shocks on the front of my jeep I bought some in a pinch from a local 4wd shop in town. I didn't realize for a couple years that my shocks were too short but I was curious why my suspension was limited up front. Anyway I unbolted them and measured. I was 3" short on the front shock so I made some shock tabs out of 1/4" steel plate and cut the stock mounts off. I moved them up so they were centered on the back side of the axle tube and I can still use those shocks.

My advice is to flex the suspension and measure the mounting points. Then measure your shocks and see if it's worth it.
